BROWNIES

1) It's looking like June we should be seeing these products hit the shelves. I do not have information about price points.

2) Holy COW am I a tease! Sorry for making you wait so long for further pictures and reviews.

When my husband and I were first married, prior to his Celiac diagnosis, we would make a quick brownie mix from a box every Sunday night. It was one of few traditions we had and it was one I would miss greatly when the news broke about his new dietary needs. Friends, although we have tried many gf brownie mixes that have been all over the board with taste, cost and availability, none have made their way to replace our Sunday tradition of years past. This brownie mix might finally be The One. Two words for you:

IT'S AWESOME!

What I love about a brownie is there- the most important part is the crusty, flaky top: check. They also need to hold together without crumbling apart: check. Then the type of fudgy center that your teeth sink into: check. And the most rarely accomplished with a gf chocolate treat is the after taste- if it is void of the chalky aftershocks: check!
I wish I could send everyone a box right now. But I cannot. Keep your eyes peeled in June and I will share info as I get it.
The cake mixes will be up next.......

  1. Hey Liz,
Looks like we're joining the group now. Tal is on a gfcf diet now and I'm a little overwhelmed. I've already taken dozens of recipes off your blog! Your recipes gave me a huge sigh of relief- seriously... borderline panic attack. :) Thanks.

  5. I hesitate posting more details about ingredients as the recipe could change so I don't want to mislead anyone. I don't know if the brownies were dairy or soy free as I trashed the box, but I did check and the cookies are not.

I'm glad to share the excitment with these kind of readily available products! I;'m glad to report, as well, that hey are YUMMY! So we should be very excited!

  11. A friend gave me a picture of these boxes from your blog. At first I though it was photoshop at work, so I looked you guys up. Then I cried. My daughter and I were diagnosed with Celiac Disease two years ago. The diet has been hard to stick to, but we've been making it work. I had just gotten used to the idea that I would never have warm, chewy, and tasty brownies again. Then I see them on your site. The heavens opened and a ray of pure joy shined it's light on me! Not really, but it sure felt like it. Brownies from a box are my all-time, ultimate favorite food. And I will have them again! I can't tell you how much I am looking forward to that first gooey bite!

  12. One of my colleagues is a celiac sufferer who gets celiac shock to even consuming small amount of gluten. I'm planning to do this brownie for him. He must be happy to have this.

  13. Be aware I have been glutened from these!! I prepared them in my GF house and only ate my own food so no chance of it being something else. I felt the fuzzy brain hit minutes after eating a piece. Then the rest of the symptoms came shortly later.

  14. The Pamela's brand of GF products are fabulous! I've never been able to master GF bread and I don't have to worry with their mix. I love the chocolate cake as well.
