CAKE MIX!!!!

Okay, here is the devil's food cake mix review. Delicious. Soft. NOT crumbly! Moist. I have to admit, it tastes the same to me as their regular cake mixes taste. I don't know how they did it, but they did. Superb. I wish I could hand everyone one of these cupcakes I made from the mix right through the computer.
I really don't post these to make your drool. I just want you to be every bit excited as I am reading you are because you have reason to be. It's easy to make, hopefully will be easy to find, and tastes awesome. Everything this blog was intended to report on when we launched its birth.

One last mix to try.......yellow cake mix.....to be continued!

p.s. sorry the photos are of much poorer quality than I prefer, but I just wanted to eat many of these while they were warm. So I didn't put much time or effort into the photo shoot.

The pics look great to me. I'd try one in a heartbeat. If you could hand us each one, you'd become the most popular blogger in history. ;-) I'm excited about all the new Betty Crocker mixes!! I'll be passing this info on to my support group on Tuesday. :-)

Thanks!
Shirley

any chance you could tell us the list of ingredents for those with other allergies besides gluten like does it have soy, corn and dairy in the dry mix?

As far as ingredients- I would prefer to not list them as I want to be respectful to the company for a number of reasons. 1) the recipes could change between now until they hit the shelves and 2)it's best to not let me be the one to leak such details that could be available to their competition.

so that's why i'm leaving that information out. but once they hit shelves I can certainly share what is out there for the public.

thanks for understanding! liz

This sounds outstanding. You are so lucky you got a preview. I cannot wait to try these mixes! How was the yellow cake? Do you have any insight about how much these might cost or how widely distributed they might be? LUCKY!!

Thanks and keep us posted.

This is so exciting, but I assume they contain dairy as well as I've yet to come across a BC product that doesn't. Bummer!

You don't know me but I live in Houston. I was just diagnosed with Celiac disease a few weeks ago. I hope you don't mind but I have been trying some of your recipes. They are great! Your blog has made the switch to gluten free so much easier for me and I have learned a lot. Thank you so much and I hope you don't feel like I am a blog stalker:)

Hey Liz. This is Lisa McBurney from your ward, we talked as we were discussing Mary Rae's baby shower...I hope you remember me. Mary was at my house and told me about your blog cuz both my daughter and I have Celiac and your story is exactly my story when we found out my daughter had it at 18 months! I'm so excited to read your blog and want to try your recipies. We need to get together one of these days, we have a big common thing between us :)

I made both the yellow & devils food cakes for father's day:

http://tinyurl.com/nutu46

I must say that the devils food cake was far superior. Most importantly, the texture was indistinguishable from wheat-flour cake. The yellow cake, on the other had had the tell-tale grittiness of rice flour.

I don't know why on earth they used two different combinations of gf flours for the cakes. Perhaps gauging consumer response? I contacted them through their website with my opinion.

In any case, it's awesome to have more options on the shelves!

I was a bit disappointed in the cost, I thought that being betty crocker, it would be a little less expensive, but it wasn't...I might as well buy the organic brands.

That chocolate cupcake looks amazing! I've used the brownie mix and the chocolate chip cookie mix from Betty Crocker.... delish. They are a godsend.

I love you blog! I've been gluten free for 4 months now and i am a dessert lover so I thought this diet would kill me. But, since i was diagnosed andI have found desserts that I LOVE. I would have to say that my favorite dessert that i have ever made is this cake mix as a almond poppy seed bundt cake-- all you do is take the yellow cake mix, add 1 package of vanilla pudding mix, 1 cup of Sour cream(or plain yogurt), 4 eggs, 1/2 cup oil, 1/2 cup orange juice, 1 tbsp almond extract, 2 tbsp of poppy seeds, then just make a simple glaze and pour it over the bundt cake. it is so delicious
