Melanie's Story
I knew something was up during my 2nd pregnancy. About 2 years and a battery of up-close-and-personal tests later, my GI guy gave me the news over the phone, Celiac Disease. Umm, What? Over the past 5 years I've researched and come to understand what gluten-free means and how I can live a healthy life without. In my house of 6, I'm the only *special* one, for now. This is what we eat. Most of it is simple. All of it is tasty. Enjoy.

Liz's Story
Once upon a time I married a swell guy (Melanie's brother) and one day a Doctor discovered he has Celiac Disease. While his only grumble was not being able to eat Krispy Kremes, I have since determined we will have yummy meals. I revise my favorite recipes and try new ones that catch my interest so our eating experience can be as *normal* as possible. The guy is still swell, in fact, even more swell now that his intestines are intact.

This isn't a joke right! That is awesome! I am so glad more companies are making gluten free items! I have celiac and we just found out my 9 yr old son does too. These mixes would be great!

I am so excited!! After years of trying to make things for my son that look and taste normal it will be a treat for me to get a mix that I know tastes great!

It is awesome, but I wish they would take all of their artifical ingredients OUT, I have multiple sensitivities, not just to gluten, and I cannot handle the things they put in their products.

365 Gluten Free Brownie Mix from Whole Foods - wonderful!
In fact, most of the 365 Gluten Free baking mixes are really good, including their pizza crust.
Also, there is a small company in California called Sylvan Border Farms that we have been ordering from for 3 years. We especially like their chocolate cake mix. Best gluten free one we have found. Their gluten free pancake mix and flour blend are both great as well.
do you know if these mixes will be available in Canada?
any word from Betty Crocker when these mixes will be out in stores? I can't find anything on their website...
The Betty Crocker GF brownies are amazing! Betty Crocker was a big sponsor for the annual LA Celiac Foundation Conference and Food Faire on May 2, 2009 in Pasadena. You can hardly believe they are GF. Can't wait to try the cookies and cake mixes. Counting down to June!
how did you get the samples?? it's june 9th now and i'm dying to find these! but again, how did you manage to get samples of them??
My daughter has celiac disease,so you imagine my happiness to learn that Betty Crocker was offering gluten-free mixes. We love the devils food cake mix that we make into cupcakes and top with Ina Garten's buttercream frosting - delicious!
i 100% agree about how amazing all 3 of those betty crocker GF mixes!!! have tried them all in the past 4 weeks and am thoroughly in love! thanks. :) so glad to have found you, thanks to my friend valerie and your yummy looking GF pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. keep these little GF life preservers comin' ladies! ::hugs::
p.s. i think i even double-heart these mixes because of the reason behind them, which is told on the side of the box. am so, so grateful!
